Teville Gate House
Back to projectsECE Planning
ECE Planning secured full planning permission for the demolition and redevelopment of Teville Gate House, a disused five-storey office building in central Worthing. Acting on behalf of Teville Gate House Ltd, we led the planning strategy to deliver a high-quality, pre-let Grade A office building of approximately 70,000ft² (net internal area), over five storeys. The approved scheme incorporates on-site staff welfare facilities, cycle storage, screened plant, and 10 car parking spaces at ground floor level within the building footprint.
We engaged in comprehensive pre-application discussions with Worthing Borough Council to ensure early alignment with policy objectives and urban design principles. The proposed scheme underwent design evolution following officer feedback, with a focus on improving the streetscape and enhancing the arrival experience from Worthing Station.
ECE Planning coordinated input from the wider design team, including architects and technical consultants, to shape a robust planning submission. We led negotiations throughout, addressing matters such as design quality, materiality, sustainability standards, and townscape impact. The result is an award winning commercial development that contributes positively to the gateway of this regeneration site for Worthing.
